Paul McCartney to Perform at Yankee Stadium for First Time

Paul McCartney is playing his first concert ever at Yankee Stadium next month, Live Nation Entertainment announced Wednesday.

The July 15 show "can safely be predicted to feature some nearly three hours of the world's best loved and most known music, with hits, deep cuts and surprises spanning his unrivaled career," Live Nation said in its announcement, as noted by the New York Times.

The announcement said songs that the former Beatle will perform include tracks from his 2008 album Electric Arguments (which he released under the name the Fireman.)

The top ticket price for the show is $279.50.

McCartney has previously played New York as the inaugural performer at Citi Field in 2009. He also was a surprise guest during Billy Joel's show before Shea Stadium closed down the year before; he previously played Shea in 1965 with the Beatles.
