City Islanders drop 3-1 decision at Orlando, split weekend set in Florida

STATUS CHECK

ORLANDO ? Surrendering two first-half goals to Jean Alexandre and one after the halftime break to Dennis Chin, the Harrisburg City Islanders dropped a 3-1 verdict to the league-leading Orlando City Lions in a USL PRO match played before 7,300-plus fans Saturday night at the Florida Citrus Bowl.

QUICK STRIKES

Lucky Mkosana, with help over the top from Matt Bahner, netted the lone goal for a City?

Islanders squad (12-8-1 overall, 11-8-1 in USL PRO) that split its two weekend games in Florida. ... Luke Boden and Jamie Watson were credited with assists on Alexandre's first-half scores for Orlando (14-3-6 overall, 12-2-6 in USL PRO). ... Ten minutes later, Watson's through ball put Alexandre behind the Harrisburg defense and in on Noble. One well-placed shot between Noble's legs later, the Lions sported a 2-0 lead.
